Name: Blue Star Fern, aka Phlebodium aureum aka Living Lace™ Davana
Type of Plant: A houseplant for most but one that has its roots in the southern areas of Georgia, Florida and down to Puerto Rico.
Why I Love this Plant: The- texture of this fern is amazing – kind of papery, with a powdery blue-green tinge as it grows larger. This doesn’t require a lot of light, so if you place it in an eastern or northern window it will be happy. I love how it contrasts with the foliage of other common houseplants such as philodendrons.
A Word to the Wise: Keep this plant moist. Have a large saucer underneath the pot so that you can water it very well without flooding the floors. Other than that, I’ve found this plant to be easy to grow and not very demanding.
