This week’s postcard comes from native plants. Plants pictured, from top and right to left: new oak leaves, honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens), butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa), mountain mint (Pycnanthemum muticum) and rattlesnake master (Eryngium yuccifolium).

Heath aster, (Symphyotrichum ericoides) is a common weed in my area. This native plant deserves more respect. Thankfully, Nature planted it in the perfect places in my garden: well drained, full sun locations.
