The 2025 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival

Jul 3, 2025 | Gardens

The 2025 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is happening soon! Ten days of open private gardens…over 100 this year. Special events Cape-wide. Learn, explore, create, and be entertained as we celebrate the summer gardens on Cape Cod.

See all of the events, read descriptions of the gardens, and learn more about the festival here.

My gardens have dozens of hydrangeas of all types, including those that can be grown in colder parts of the country. Most of the hydrangeas on my property are labeled. I also have extensive flower gardens, vegetables, containers and creative ideas. Bring your camera and a notebook…I’ll be happy to identify plants for you.

My gardens will be open for the 2025 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival on July 13, 14, 15, and 16.  You’re invited to Poison Ivy Acres on those days between 10 and 4. (Arrive by 3:30 PM, please.) Cost is $5. per person and that goes directly to the nonprofit that I’m open for that day. Children under 12 and free and welcomed.

My garden isn’t handicapped accessible – the driveway is steep and many gardens are reached over lawn or mulched paths. This is a “country style” garden with vegetables, berry bushes, perennials and annuals…not to mention dozens of Hydrangeas. Most Hydrangeas are labeled.

In addition to Hydrangeas, come see unusual trees and shrubs, new annuals just being introduced, container plantings and many perennials. New this year: check out my “Chaos Garden” that runs between the vegetables and the house.

My address: 2 Lawrence Pond Lane, Sandwich, MA  There is no parking on Lawrence Pond Lane – you’ll need to park on ONE SIDE of Stowe Road, being careful not to block driveways or mail boxes. Thanks for being considerate of my neighbors!

I am stamping Hydrangea Fest Passports – you can download a passport, see all of the other gardens that are open during the festival, and discover all of the many special events that are happening Cape-wide by going to the fest website here.

Although this festival is organized under the umbrella of our signature shrub, the blue hydrangea, you’ll see all types of gardens and plants when you come.
