Growing Vegetables in Containers

Apr 26, 2025 | Gardens, Postcards From Plants

This afternoon on The Garden Lady I will be interviewing Isabel Branstrom Product Development Manager for PanAmerican Seed, about Kitchen Minis™

Kitchen Minis™ are a group of vegetables made to produce great taste and high yields on small plants.

We’ll be talking about growing smaller vegetables in containers. These plants are not only good for people who have courtyard gardens or other limited spaces, but they are also great ornamentals for display. Plant these in window boxes or pots no matter how large your gardens.

Recordings of The Garden Lady can be found here, on WCAI.  Next week, on May 3rd, you’ll also be able to hear the program on WGBH, Boston.

I grew the Kitchen Minis™ tomatoes among potted herbs outside my kitchen door one summer. I loved seeing my grandson casually pick a ripe tomato as he walked by this display, and pop it into his mouth.

Whether you have a large vegetable garden or a group of Kitchen Minis in pots, you have the most satisfying food possible.
