Name: Allium hybrid ‘Serendipity’
Type of Plant: A mid-summer flowering perennial plant hardy in zones 4 – 8.
Why I Love/Hate this plant: I love this perennial for so many reasons. First, it’s attractive both before and after it flowers, which is important in my garden designs. Secondly, this is a fairly short plant – 15 to 20 inches tall – that grows in full clumps, so it blends in with other perennials and shrubs well.
I also love this because the deer and bunnies don’t eat it and this plant is fairly drought tolerant.
A Word to the Wise: Deadhead this plant by cutting off the dried flowers after they go by.

I love how the developing flowers look when the buds are dancing on curved stems above the foliage.

The Proven Winners company sent me these 5 Allium plants in 2020. They were lovely that first year, but in their second year they totally exploded with beauty.

Even as the flowers aren’t yet fully open, this allium is beautiful
