Name: Geranium x cantabrigiense ‘Biokovo’
Type of Plant: A gently spreading perennial cranesbill geranium, hardy in Zones 5 to 8, and thriving in full sun to part shade.
Why I Love/Hate this plant: I love this plant for use as “socks and shoes” for shrubs and taller perennials. The pink flowers are sweet in June and the leaves are attractive before and after flowering.
A Word to the Wise: Plant this perennial geranium in soil that has been amended with some compost and loosened a bit to give the roots the opportunity to push into the area easily. After that, water every couple of weeks if it hasn’t rained. This is a trouble-free plant that will serve you well.

Here is how the Geranium ‘Bikovo’ foliage looks in my landscape in early spring,

The flowers are pink, and sweet…but it’s the foliage cover that you plant this perennial for.
