Name: Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears’
Type of Plant: A low-growing, hardy perennial that makes attractive “socks and shoes” around shrubs or taller perennials in shade gardens.
Why I Love This Plant: Weed smothering…do we have to know more? Okay, I’ll continue: drought tolerant, pretty blue-green coloring and sweet, short flowers in late summer. This is a perfect plant to place around taller shade shrubs or perennials. Low-maintenance, attractive and problem-solving as well.
A Word to the Wise: Plant these low-growing Hosta about 16” apart center to center and they will fill in so that you have areas where you never have to weed or mulch.

Blue Mouse Ears Hosta plays well with others. Plant it with Biokovo Geranium or other low-growing perennials. The more of this Hosta you have, the less you have to mulch or weed.

Blue Mouse Ears also tolerates quite a bit of sun. This area gets strong afternoon sun and this Hosta is as happy as…well, as happy as a Hosta in the shade!

Weed smothering, drought tolerant and attractive – what more could you want in a plant for around tall perennials or shrubs?
