Name: Supertunia® Saffron Finch™ from Proven Winners
Type of Plant: A new to the market hybrid petunia.
Why I Love this Plant: Since most petunias flower on the ends of the newest growth, they can become lean, lanky and mostly green annuals during the summer. This summer my Supertunia® Saffron Finch™ has stayed full and tight, and I haven’t had to cut it back or rejuvenate it at all. And the yellow flowers are a bright, deeper yellow in the center that fades into white edges.
A Word to the Wise: I plant up all my annuals using fresh potting media and a mix of equal parts of a time-release fertilizer and an organic fertilizer. Using both means that most of the time I don’t have to do any other fertilization for the summer, unless a plant clearly needs a boost. This has been totally successful for Supertunia® Saffron Finch™. Grow in full sun to part-sun.
Should any of your petunias slow down at the end of the summer, clip them back and fertilize with a synthetic fertilizer.

This urn is in a hot-spot, but the Supertunia® Saffron Finch™ petunia has thrived. I love how it combines with the blue Scaevola.

You can see that this petunia rules the boxes on my front porch! Yes, the Cuphea Vermillionaire on each end are the favorites of the hummingbirds, but I have to say that Supertunia® Saffron Finch™ won my heart this summer.
