Nasturtium Martini

Looking for a beverage that celebrates the summer garden? (Alcoholic or non-alcoholic.) Have I got a drink for you!

When you muddle nasturtium flowers, then shake with liquid and ice, their flavor and color goes into your drink.

Ingredients – Alcoholic
12 Nasturtium flowers plus a couple extra for garnish
2 oz Gin (I used The Botonist because, well, it’s the obvious choice)
1 oz Thatcher’s Elderflower Liqueur
Ice

Ingredients – Non-Alcoholic
12 Nasturtium flowers plus a couple extra for garnish
3 oz sparkling water
2 teaspoons agave syrup
1 oz lemon or lime juice
Ice

Put nasturtium flowers for garnish to the side. Place the rest of the flowers into a mason jar. Add the gin or sparkling water and muddle with a wooden spoon. Add the Elderflower Liqueur or the agave syrup and lime and five or six ice cubes. Cap and shake vigorously until the liquid takes on a peach color. Strain into a glass, garnish with a flower and serve.

Going into the garden and picking the nasturtium flowers is half the fun.

Way to go CL! This sounds delicious and is so pretty. And of course I love your choice of gin.
