Name: Liriope muscari ‘Peedee Ingot’ aka Liriope ‘Peedee Gold Ingot,’ Peedee Gold, and golden lilyturf
Type of Plant: Perennial plant for full to part-sun. Grows 8 to 10 inches high and wide, hardy in zones 6-10
Why I Love This Plant: Every garden benefits from different foliage textures and colors, and this Liriope is perfect for this purpose. It’s especially effective near plants with purple leaves or blue/purple flowers.
A Word to the Wise: When they get hungry enough in the spring or late fall the bunnies will eat this plant. Spray early and at the end of the season with a rabbit repellant.
Liriope is known to be a tough plant that is fairly drought tolerant. I’ve heard from some in very hot climates like southern California that it can get burned in full sun, but on the Cape I haven’t found that to be much of an issue.

Golden color and great texture for full or part-sun gardens! Here the Liriope ‘Peedee Ingot’ is with Sedum Peach Pearls and Pugster butterfly bush.

I love this golden Liriope with other plants that have purple foliage. This year I planted Sedum Peach Pearls and I look forward to seeing this combo next year when those sedum are larger.

Golden lilyturf is great near a purple smokebush!
